Rhonda Schaller Chelsea - New Studio Gallery opens in Chelsea art district, NYC September 2006

History and Bio

Rhonda Schaller, owner and Gallery Director of the Rhonda Schaller Studio, co-founded the Ceres Gallery in New York City in 1984. Ceres is still going strong today. She also has had a working studio in Tribeca for the past 15 years.

She has been on the faculty and Board of Directors of The New York Feminist Art Institute/Women’s Center for Learning. She is a full time artist and is represented in the permanent collections of many fine institutions.

She is currently the recipient of a five-year Alan. B. Slifka Foundation grant to present her life affirming vision in the world, through her artwork and her writing.

In 2006 she and Dave Jaquish, gallery co-owner and President of Blue Pearl Press, decided to open the Rhonda Schaller Studio – as a gallery, mentoring place, and working studio in the Chelsea Gallery district of NYC.

Chelsea Gallery

The Rhonda Schaller studio specializes in contemporary living American Artists.

We have relocated from Tribeca to a beautiful old warehouse building filled with Fine Art galleries and artist studios.

Our new space is on the 5th floor of 547 West 27th Street, between 10th and 11th avenue.

It’s an open artists working studio, where you can visit with the artist in her studio, view the current exhibition of one of our Gallery artists, or choose from a variety of exciting new works from The Art Link Network/Gallery database. Our Art Link Network is a group of talented, hand picked emerging and re-emerging artists featured monthly on our new website, and in our themed group shows.

Our Mission is to navigate the Manhattan art world with integrity and passion, and provide a selection of soulful and thought provoking imagery as a source of commentary, personal or cultural reflection, and public enjoyment. We believe artists, emerging and re-emerging, are essential to this process, and those so engaged help to transform the collective mindset towards a nobler future.

Please visit our sister site at www.RhondaSchallerChelsea.com to learn more about upcoming exhibitions, our mentoring program and the Art Link Network.

Artist Submissions are now being accepted for Access: A Feminist Perspective (deadline 11/15/06) and Live Free or Die (deadline 12/1/06).

We are open to the public Saturday’s from 11 - 5 and by appointment Monday - Friday. Visitors are welcome to stop by anytime however, just knock and join us for a cup of tea.
