 Artist Statement |

My art consists of luminous shapes and ellipses suspended within rectangles, painted using thickly layered oil sticks and acrylics on a matrix of rectangular surfaces of varying texture. Implying a connection with that which is material and spiritual, these shapes are mythic and irregular but recognizable forms that connect one in a very personal way with that which is universal. For me these geometries have a sense of individuality, power, history and purpose.
My art seeks to describe and expand the possibilities for dialogue between our inner and outer selves. I have always been interested in spiritual and psychological concepts of becoming, and these images are my quest for awareness through giving my soul a visual voice. I have always believed that one must find a larger idea, and materialize it.
